Description
Admax ad hoc reports should get priority in the report service queue over event based scheduled reports, alerts or dashboard charts that are kicked off by data availability.
The report service has a maximum of 8 report generation threads running at once. If there are more in line, reports get queued. During specific times of the day such as 11:30 am or 2:30 pm PST, there is a slow down in reporting as these are the time zone based points where any accounts still waiting for data availability to complete are forced to complete. The complete message is then sent so that scheduled reports, dashboard charts and alerts are run (via report service). This backs up the queue everyday generally for 30-60 minutes.
During this time, anyone pulling an ad hoc report will be placed at the end of the line and have to wait for their reports.
This can be problematic if there are specific deadlines that need to be met.
