      Description

Per my note on the call today, we’d like to lower the maximum character limit for GEO1 insertion in JP ad copy. We’re about to launch into a 50+ hour project of redoing all GEO ad copy in the NTT repositories, and the added flexibility of having 2 extra characters to work with in the ads would help streamline the work.

Currently, the longest allowable location name for JP is 8. If we move to 6, the material impact is that the maximum character length for lines that contain GEO1 would jump from 17 to 19. (The character string “GEO1” is exactly 8 characters long, so when we use it in ad copy, it doesn’t affect how we track the max character length (17) for ads that use the string. But if we make our limit 6, this means that the 8-character GEO1 string should be treated as 6 characters, thus the jump from 17 to 19 max total length for the line.)

Can we make this editorial change on our end without repercussion, or are there validations/checks in place that would reject a 19-character line of ad copy in NTT? If so, is it possible to undo those?
