Description
Description:
If Google requires that each display URL in a given auction be unique then AML may need to alter our system to support exposing text after the [domain].com text.
this story is an investigation request for what it would take to stop the automatic truncation of the destination URL but it is also a request for investigation to the true Google requirement. Our info is coming from a somewhat junior manager within Google Japan.
What is the exact requirement?
what are our options to meet the requirement?
What is the least we can do to meet them?
What is the preferred solution?
Is the requirement universal across all territories?
From my email:
As I understand it AML automatically truncates the inputted destination URL to abbreviate it for the display URL. If the Google Japan employee Miyuki spoke to today is correct, Google is intending on disallowing identical display URLs from appearing in the same auction (SERP). I know we’ve received confirmation that this was OK in the past but apparently the rule is coming back.
Miyuki learned that NTT currently shows the full URL including the business profile ID (long series of numbers) and is happy with that results so I’d like to request that we investigate the same.
