Description
When the user is completing the order, they need to add a Domain name - they will have provisioned from a third party service.
Aquidneck should recommend at least two domain names (and present this in the UI or just HELP) with the following heuristic:
BusinessNamePrimaryBusinessLocationLocalPostCode.localSuffix
******
Domain names should be registered as
=
{businessName}{primaryBusinessLocation}{5-digit postCode}or as close to that as possible, where {businessName}
and
{primaryBusinessLocation} are the values as sent in the Deployment Package, modified using the following rules:1. Change β&β to βandβ
2. Remove all other punctuation
3. Remove all spaces
4. Convert to all lowercase
DNS Entries.
The non-www version should have a site-wide 301 re-direct so that any non-www request is sent directly to the equivalent URL with the www hostname.
*****
HELP TEXT should include the following details:
If {domainName}.com is not available for registration, the following alternates can be checked (in order):
1. {businessName}{primaryBusinessLocation}
.com
2.
3. {businessName}
in
{primaryBusinessLocation}.com4. {businessName}in{5-digit postCode}.com
5. {businessName}-{primaryBusinessLocation}
.com
6.
7. {businessName}
.com
Manual review of the name should be made before final registration, to ensure that inappropriate substrings do not emerge from the above heuristics. If none of the above names are available, manual override will be required.
DNS Entries (also part of Help)
Once the domain is registered, the website should be registered in DNS as www.
.com should have a DNS record created as well.
