      Description

v201309, the current version is getting sunset on 21st July 2014. Migration guide for Adwords v201402 can be found here, https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/migration/v201402

      Key things to note:

      1. Client login gets deprecated with v201402 - Not a problem as we are already in OAuth
      2. GBO is no onger valid. Google has another bidding scheme that is similar to GBO, TargetSpendBiddingScheme, https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201402/BiddingStrategyService.TargetSpendBiddingScheme

GBO has a field for enhancedCpcEnabled which TargetSpend does not have, and Target spend has an optional spendTarget field that GBO does not have. Those look like the only differences to me.

v201309 GBO: In budget optimizer, Google automatically places bids for the user based on their daily/monthly budget.

201402 TargetSpend: Target Spend bidding scheme, in which Google automatically places bids for the user based on their daily/monthly budget or optional spend target.
